Description

These yummy pecans are so easy to make and tasty to eat!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Egg White
  • 1 Tablespoon Water
  • 1 cup White Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 pound Pecan Halves

Preparation

Preheat oven to 250ºF. In a large bowl, whisk egg white until frothy. Stir in remaining ingredients except for pecans. Once coating is blended, add pecans and toss/stir to coat them. Pour onto a large baking sheet lined with Silpat or a greased baking sheet to prevent sticking. (Sometimes, if I’ve got one handy, I use a disposable roasting pan, which works wonders too.) Pour the coated pecans out onto the prepared baking sheet and smooth into a single layer. (You may want to divide the batch and use two sheets, depending on the size of the baking sheet you’re using.) Slide the sheet(s) into the preheated oven for one hour, stirring the coated nuts every 15 minutes, until the coating is no longer wet. Let cool and enjoy!

These were a big hit. I’m going to try with other nuts next time too!

These came out great! I will add my own twist next time – maybe a little cayenne?
