The name pretty much says it all. Don’t be scared—it’s super tasty, chocolatey, and you’d never guess healthy, too!
Make a paste with the olive oil and cocoa.
To a food processor, add chick peas (drained), sugar, chocolate paste, vanilla and salt. Blend until smooth, adding 1 to 3 tablespoons of water, as necessary.
Serve on toast or with cinnamon sugar pita chips!

Make sure to use a light olive oil. And I swapped almond extract for the vanilla. The second batch (with almond) was given a much higher rating by all my testers.

Wonderful! Made it for my son’s birthday party – kids were eating it by the spoonful (grown-ups too). I added 1/2 tsp espresso powder to give it more of a dark chocolate flavor.

I admit, I was a little apprehensive to try this recipe. But I love hummus and I love chocolate, so I gave it a whirl. SO glad I did! What a wonderful dip! I tried ginger snaps, graham crackers and even some veggies (trying to be healthy) and they all worked with the chocolate hummus. The only thing I would change is to add more water. I ended up using 1/2 cup of water and it was still very thick. Maybe I should have tried warm water? Either way, great recipe, thank you!!
