Description

These smokey, spicy, sweet and salty sweet potato fries are nothing short of addicting!

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Sweet Potato
  • 2 Tablespoons Peanut Or Safflower Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Adobo Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sucanat (or Brown Sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoons Chili Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon

Preparation

Note: You can buy Chipotles in Adobo at your local grocery store (in the Mexican food aisle). I freeze what I don’t use in a small tupperware container so that I always have some on hand!

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Peel and cut sweet potato into large sticks

Whisk together oil, adobo, sugar, salt, chili powder and cinnamon.

In a large bowl toss potato sticks with seasonings.

Next, generously oil 2 baking sheets and spread out seasoned potato sticks on baking sheets so that none of the fries are touching. Place in oven for 10-15 minutes, until the bottoms are golden brown. Then gently flip each fry around so the other side is touching, making sure that the bottom of the pan is still well oiled. Bake for another 10 minutes.

Take out of the oven and light sprinkle with kosher salt while still hot. Serve with cool ranch dip (or not, just plain is tasty enough!!)

These were awesome! I left the skins on and didn’t have enough peanut oil, so just used regular vegetable oil. Such a great combination of spices – so good!
