Description

A one-bite wonder! Spicy chicken, creamy cheese, and the light crunch of walnuts.

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cups Walnuts
  • 2 teaspoons Olive Oil
  • ¼ pounds Chicken Spicy Italian Sausage
  • 2 ounces, weight Cream Cheese (or Neufchatel Cheese, If You Have It)
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • ¼ teaspoons Dried Sage
  • ¼ teaspoons Cracked Pepper
  • ¼ cups Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 15 pieces Fully Cooked Mini Phyllo Shells

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

2. Finely chop walnuts in a food processor. In a small skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Saute walnuts for about 4 minutes. Set aside.

3. Remove sausage from casings and roughly dice. In the same skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned. Turn off heat. Stir the cream cheese into the sausage until melted. Then stir in the lemon juice, sage, pepper, and Parmesan.

4. Add the chicken mixture to your food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Stir in half of the nuts.

5. Evenly divide the mixture into phyllo shells and sprinkle with remaining walnuts. Bake until heated through, about 10 minutes.

I tried making this and couldn’t find the chicken sausage or cooked mini phyllo shells. Any recommendations?
