Description

This is a MUST at our house for any sort of get-together.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces, weight Room Temperature Cream Cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Accent Seasoning
  • 1 package (about 7 Oz. Package) Thinly Sliced Corned Beef Lunchmeat
  • 2 sprigs Green Onion

Preparation

Put the cream cheese in a mixing bowl and add your Worcestershire sauce and Accent seasoning. Mix everything together.

Take the package of the thin sliced corned beef and slice it into strips or chunks or you could even pulverize it in the food processor (my sister-in-law does not however enjoy it this way). It all depends on how big you like your chunks of meat. Toss the meat into the cream cheese.

Thinly slice your green onions and pop them in the bowl as well.

Mix her all up and now you can either plop it onto some plastic wrap and make it into a ball, or put it into a bowl sprayed lightly with non stick cooking spray so it can easily be inverted onto a plate. Or you can just skip the spray, keep it in the bowl and serve it from there. Whatever you choose, just keep it in the fridge overnight, and enjoy the next day!

I’ve made a similar version countless times and love this stuff. I add some sour cream to make it more a dip and less a cheese ball. I used dried chives instead of the green onion, some garlic salt instead of the Accent and put in a splash of vinegar. I don’t have a recipes but usually use 2 blocks of cream cheese and 2 packages of meat with the chives, garlic salt, worchestershire sauce, and a couple TBSP of sour cream (along with the splash of vinegar). So good!!! Will try the dash of hot sauce next time.

I make this cheeseball without the Worchestshire. Instead of the lunchmeat, I use the dried corned beef you find in jars. It’s a wonderful appetizer that is always requested anytime we have a gathering.

This didn’t turn out too well for me. I question the amount of green onions to use. The onion taste overpowered everything else. I think maybe one or two sprigs would have been enough….

We have made this recipe for years and love it. It used to be a holiday cheeseball but it’s so good, I make it several times a year now!
