My brother’s friend Darrell gave me this recipe, and it is AWESOME!!!
Cook bacon until crispy and just before it is done, add the garlic and cook, but do not brown the garlic. Drain the bacon and garlic.
Beat the cream cheese until smooth and add half-and-half until combined.
Stir in the bacon and garlic, crumbled blue cheese, and chives. Divide into 2 baking dishes.
Bake at 350F for 15 minutes until brown and bubbling. Sprinkle with walnuts and serve hot with crackers, bread, pita, etc.

I have made this for many years! I found the recipe in Stop and Smell The Rosemary cookbook of the Houston Junior League! I serve it with sliced green apples and wheat thins!!! So wonderful! Glad you posted it up to share!

Absolutely wonderful! I made this for Thanksgiving dinner and everybody asked for the recipe. The only changes I made were to sprinkle the walnuts on before baking so they got nice and toasted, and to put everything in a small casserole and increase the bake time to 30 minutes. Served with fresh baked french bread slices and tortilla chips. Pita chips would be wonderful, too.
