Description

These tasty little apple chips are wonderful for snacking. We like them plain, but you can also sprinkle them with a touch of powdered sugar, or cinnamon sugar. Make as many or as few as you like.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Apple, Thinly Sliced

Preparation

Arrange thin apple slices in a single layer on a greased or lined baking tray. Place into a preheated 400F oven and immediately reduce the temperature to 170F; bake for about 2-2 1/2 hours, depending on how thick the slices are, and how crispy or chewy you like them. Cool. Store in an airtight container.

Hi Texasellie and chanonn – I didn’t use lemon. I don’t think you need to worry about it if you pop these into the oven soon after slicing them. Hope you enjoy them!

Should you dip them in lemon juice before baking to keep from turning brown?

Ohh! The Pampered Chef apple/peeler/corer/slicer would make this an easy task if you have lots of apples! I think I need to get some apples! Thanks for sharing… Meant to ask, will they turn brown or do you need to spritz with lemon juice or something?

Pretty darn good! Used a mandoline to slice paper thin and added cinnamon. After 2 hours and 40 minutes still not completely crispy. Next time I will bake for longer.
