A fun name sometimes helps even a simple snack of apples and nuts.
Aside from cutting the apples, this is a great recipe for the kids to make themselves. You really can’t go wrong with the proportions. Make sure you don’t leave out the salt though, it’s surprisingly good!
1. Slice apple as desired. I usually slice them into about 8 wedges depending on size, but have also done smaller pieces. The wedges are good if this is to be a finger food.
2. Put slices in a bowl or baggie with lemon juice and shake until coated. This helps the other ingredients stick as well as keeps the slices from browning. Other citrus juice could be substituted.
3. In a separate bowl, combine sugar, salt and cinnamon and mix well. Add crushed nuts (the smaller the better!).
4. Either dip and roll slices in cinnamon/nut mixture or sprinkle over the top. Enjoy!
