Description

You can call it Mexican/Spanish/7 Layer Dip whatever name you prefer. All I know is it is YUMMY.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Taco Seasoning
  • 1 can Bean Dip
  • 1 package Frozen Avocado Dip (or Fresh Guacamole)
  • 4 ounces, fluid Sour Cream
  • 1 can Chopped Olives
  • 2 whole Medium Tomatoes, Chopped
  • ½ cups Chopped Onion (green Onion Is GREAT)
  • 1 jar Small, Of Picante Sauce (we Use Mild, You Can Use HOT If You Like It SPICY)
  • 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese

Preparation

1)Mix taco seasoning with bean dip. (chili and garlic seasoning is also good to use as an alternative to taco seasoning)

2)Put this mixture in the bottom of a platter or bowl. (If too dry mix in a little of the picante sauce)

3)Spread/spoon Avocado/Guacamole on top of the bean dip

4)Spread/spoon the Sour Cream on top of #3

5) Spread/spoon black olives, tomatoes and then onion on top of #4

6)Pour picante sauce on top of all of this

7)Sprinkle cheese on top of the picante sauce

Serve with large corn/tortilla chips, eat and enjoy!

**Cooks Notes –
All I know is that when I make a bowl of this we eat it and eat it and eat it. Highly addictive and just DELICIOUS!

As always you may substitute any canned item with FRESH items. They really make it great when you can find things in season.

You can really play with this dip and add things you like such as green pepper for crunch, jalapenos for HOT, change the cheese type etc. (In the photo above I added chopped banana peppers and black beans to the dip. I also substituted a half can of re fried beans in place of the bean dip.)

Remember you are not required to only use corn chips (although that is my favorite), try it with wheat crackers, blue corn, pita, bagel chips etc.
