A quick and easy way to cook fresh green beans. You won’t be able to stop eating them!
Make sure green beans are washed and thoroughly dried. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add green beans and cook until beans have turned a darker shade of green (approximately 5 minutes). Add water, and cover. Turn heat down to medium-low, and cook until beans are at desired softness/crunchiness (approximately 10 minutes), stirring occasionally. Add salt and sugar and stir for 1 minute.
Note: These beans are delicious when they are freshly made, but I’m also fond of eating them cold! Also, you can make them with frozen, whole green beans, but you must thaw the green beans entirely, dry them thoroughly, and your cook time will be shorter. They don’t turn out as yummy, but it’s a good way to survive the winter dearth of fresh green beans!
