This recipe belongs in a new category called “Weird But Delicious.” When I take it to parties, I get some strange looks but by the time the party is over, the cheese is gone and friends are asking for the recipe!
Mix all ingredients (except preserves) and press mixture into a mold lined with plastic wrap. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Unmold. Serve with whole strawberry preserves (or jam) in the center and crackers (Ritz are my preference). For a nice touch, put the strawberry preserves in a small bowl in the center of a ring mold.
Note: For smaller parties, I will often cut the recipe in half and use a small bowl as the mold.
