Description

Creamy, cheesy, delicious crab dip. I discovered this food when I lived in DC and after I moved away, I had to develop my own recipe for it because I missed it so much.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (8 Oz. Each) Cream Cheese, Softened
  • ½ cups Sour Cream
  • ½ cups Milk
  • 3 Tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Dry Mustard
  • 1 pinch Garlic Salt
  • 1-½ teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • ½ pounds Crab Meat, Well Drained
  • 1-½ cup Grated Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 pinch Paprika

Preparation

In a large mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, milk, mayo, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic salt and Old Bay. Mix until creamy and smooth. Stir in 3 tablespoons of grated cheese. With rubber spatula, gently fold in crab meat, being careful to not break it up too much.

Pour mixture into a 9”x13” pan, sprayed with cooking spray, this helps keep dip from sticking. Top with remaining grated cheese (can use extra if looks too skimpy on top), sprinkle with paprika and a little Old Bay seasoning (not too much is very powerful). Bake at 350 for 30 minutes until dip is bubbly and slightly browned. Serve with bread or crackers. Can be mixed a day ahead and baked right before eating.

This is a dip from Heaven! I like it a little spicier, so I add a little chili powder. But then again, I think everything’s better with a little heat!

Yum! Thanks for sharing!

Great crab dip, I was really impressed! Coming from Maryland I hate trying recipes that say “Maryland Crab___” because its never “right”. But this had everything that our favorite dips here have :)
