Description

Slightly spicy, slightly sweet, and very delicious popcorn. Great for game day!

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cups Popcorn Kernels
  • 3 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • ¼ teaspoons Fine Salt
  • ½ cups Honey
  • ⅓ cups Sugar
  • ½ cups Peanut Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha Hot Sauce

Preparation

Place oil and kernels in a large pot and cover with a lid. Place over high heat and cook until you hear all kernels are popped. Pour into a large bowl and sprinkle with salt. In a small saucepan, heat up honey and sugar. Let boil for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and Sriracha sauce. It’s not an easy task, but trust me, it works out in the end. Pour sauce over the popcorn and stir gently so as not to break up all your puffy corn. Spread onto a cookie sheet in an even layer to cool. This makes it firm up better and seems to keep the corn from getting too soggy. Once cool, serve in a bowl.

I skipped the sugar (only used honey) and the hot sauce (I don’t like spicy) and my family loved this. Certainly a healthy snack! Thanks!

Good grief, I made this the other night after seeing this recipe appear and it was good!!!!

I did omit the sugar though since it was for the kids, as well as hubby and I, and with the honey and peanut butter alone it was still deliscious! I didn’t add the hot sauce, because I wasn’t sure if the kids would eat it, but I do plan on making it again and adding it then.

I added more popcorn than the recipe called for. I usually pop popcorn on the stove, and the directions on the bag are always to add 1/3 cup vegetable oil and then a single layer of popcorn on the bottom of the pop. It comes out perfect everytime!

I made this yesterday. Perfect for fulfilling a craving when you want something sweet that is also very quick and easy! The flavors are complex and delicious!! And it’s made with items I usually have in my fridge or pantry. Thanks for sharing!

Love this! Made it for my family who finished it within the hour. The second time I made it for friends with a few changes for my personal taste and to cut down on the sugar. The second time I omitted the sugar as I thought the honey made it sweet enough and I added a bit more salt (maybe twice as much?) to the popcorn for that yummy sweet/salty mix. Both were great. Thanks for the awesome snack idea!
