Description
A delicious creamy spread with the flavors of pesto. My daughter named it “Schmutz” and it has become a family favorite for all gatherings. The dictionary says the word “schmutz” means “garbage” or “trash,” but there is nothing trashy about this. I think my daughter had heard the word and just liked the way it sounded when she said it, and the name has stuck!
Ingredients
- 1 stick Unsalted Butter, At Room Temperature
- 8 ounces, weight Cream Cheese, At Room Temperature
- ½ Tablespoons Minced Garlic
- ⅓ cups Fresh Basil Leaves
- Salt And Ground Pepper To Taste
Preparation
Combine butter and cream cheese in a food processor until smooth. Add garlic and basil and process until smooth and light green in color. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with crackers or fresh bread. Enjoy!
