Description

Want a new spin on an old classic? Try this savory, garlicky recipe. You’ll never make it the old way again! Sure, it’s got a few more calories … but it’s worth it!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Cooked Cut Green Beans (about Three Cans, Drained)
  • 1 can (10.75 Oz.) Condensed Cream Of Mushroom Soup
  • ½ cups Milk
  • ⅓ cups Bacon, Crumbled (about 4-5 Strips)
  • 4 ounces, weight Canned Mushroom Stems And Pieces, Drained
  • 2 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • ¼ cups Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • ¼ teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 pinch Salt (optional)
  • ¾ cups French's French Fried Onions, Cheddar Flavor
  • ¾ cups French's French Fried Onions

Preparation

Stir the beans, soup, milk, bacon, mushrooms, garlic powder, parmesan, black pepper, salt, and the cheddar-flavored fried onions in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.

Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir the bean mixture. Sprinkle the top of the casserole with the original-flavored fried onions.

Bake for another 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown.

This was a nice change from the usual green bean casserole. Hubby doesn’t like green bean casserole but he ate this one (he said that it was an improvement on the original lol). I thought it was too garlicky so I will probably adjust the amount in the future. Thanks for an alternative :)
