Description

A yummy sauce that can be used to dip your eggrolls and wantons in for some great sweet and sour flavor. Also perfect with meatballs as an appetizer or for a party dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon Oil
  • 1 cup Pineapple Juice
  • 3 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • ½ cups Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons White Vinegar
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Ketchup
  • ½ cups Pineapple Tidbits (optional)

Preparation

First, heat and bring to a boil the oil and pineapple juice. Mix cornstarch and water, stir until dissolved and add to the previous mixture. Next, mix soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, ketchup, and pineapple tidbits (if desired) and add to previous ingredients. Cook until sauce thickens, stirring constantly.

This is excellent for eggrolls and wantons. Also perfect with meatballs as a yummy party food. Freezes well.

I love this type of Asian dipping sauce! For mine, I’d have to add a bunch of red chili flakes because I’m a little crazy that way. Oh, who am I kidding?! I’m A LO T crazy that way!

Ya I agree, this is a great homemade sauce for spring rolls! I also added a few red pepper flakes.

Served this with egg rolls. I like how it thickened up really well, as some recipes I’ve made in the past tend to be on the watery side. The taste was good, but needed a kick. Think I will add a few pepper flakes next time. Looking forward to cooking this with meatballs served over rice in the future. :-)
