For October Tammie and I are going to base our recipes around cider and soup, both autumn favorites. Why don’t you buy a gallon of cider at your favorite farmers’ market or roadside stand and try this?
As a lover of grits my first recipe is simple and seasoned for fall. Hope you enjoy!
In a medium saucepan over high heat combine the cider, grits, cinnamon and salt. Stir as it comes to a boil and then stir very frequently.
When the cider is almost absorbed add the apples and keep stirring. Cook until the apples are mostly softened.
Garnish with a sprinkling of brown sugar and cinnamon.
