Healthier than regular Buffalo sauce, but with more flavor. Perfect for tailgating!
Preheat your broiler to low, or the oven to 450ºF if your broiler doesn’t have a low setting.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, tomato sauce, and hot sauce until melted and combined. If you aren’t sure about the spice, just add 1 tablespoon of hot sauce at a time until the sauce tastes good to you—you don’t have to use the whole 1/4 cup! I use close to 1/2 cup for very spicy sauce.
Lay the shrimp in one or two layers in the bottom of a medium baking dish.
Pour the sauce over the shrimp to barely cover it; you may have a bit of sauce leftover.
Top the shrimp with the blue cheese crumbles and broil for 10 minutes until cheese is golden brown, sauce is bubbly, and shrimp is cooked through. If the cheese browns before the shrimp cooks (this may happen with large shrimp), cover the dish lightly with tin foil to continue cooking.
Allow the dip to cool for 5 minutes, then serve with your favorite crusty bread and crunchy vegetables.
