Candied nuts for salads or to snack on.
Add maple syrup to a skillet on the stove and heat over medium to medium high heat. You want the syrup hot but you don’t want it boiling.
Add nuts (pecans or walnuts) and stir them continuously. The nuts will slowly soak up all the maple syrup as you are stirring them. It will take approximately 10 minutes (or so).
Once all (or most) of the syrup is gone, pour the nuts onto a piece of parchment paper. Spread the nuts out so they aren’t stuck together and let them dry. It shouldn’t take them long to dry, perhaps 5 minutes.
Store in a Ziploc bag or place in a pretty dish so folks can snack on them. Enjoy!
