Description

My mom used to make this for me and my brother when we were little and when we watched movies! I make it for my kids, especially when we have sleepovers. Kids love this recipe!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups White Sugar
  • ½ cups White Corn Syrup
  • ½ cups Creamy Peanut Butter
  • ¼ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 bags (3 Oz. Bag) Butter Popcorn, Popped

Preparation

Bring the sugar and corn syrup to a boil. Add the peanut butter and vanilla to the boiling mixture. Remove from heat and immediately pour over popped popcorn. Enjoy!! (Caution: this gets very HOT. Be careful, as hard as it is, to not burn little fingers!)

This was quite good, based on how much of it I have now “tasted” since making it. :) I made it with air-popped popcorn (1/2 c. unpopped corn) and unsalted, unsweetened peanut butter. I ended up adding some salt, of course (1/2. teaspoon) and accidently added twice as much vanilla (so hard to pour into a 1/4 teaspoon!) It wasn’t too sweet, salty or vanilla-y. It didn’t harden up like I thought it would, but has a caramel-like texture. PS: One tip if you air pop–use two big bowls. “Air-lift” the popcorn from the first bowl into the other to separate the unpopped kernals. When those are removed, you can also more evenly pour the peanut sauce if the popcorn is divided. Yum, and thanks for sharing!
