Sourdough bread oozing wonderful cheesy goodness. (Recipe adapted from The Girl Who Ate Everything and The Changeable Table.)
Slice sourdough bread into squares, lengthwise and crosswise, taking care not to cut through all the way. Place on a piece of foil large enough to wrap bread in.
Place the cheese slices into the sliced squares on the bread. Then mix together the melted butter, minced green onions, and poppy seeds. Drizzle over the bread as evenly as possible.
Wrap bread in foil and place in a 350ºF oven for about 20 minutes. Open up the wrap and continue to bake for another 15 minutes, and remove to a serving platter.
Place on the table and stand back. (You need to do this to keep from getting trampled by your guests.) Place a serrated knife by the plate for those guest who want to just cut off a chunk.

Realized after I posted this recipe I hadn’t given credit to Changeable Table and The Girl Who Ate Everything. So glad you added the credits. And by the way, this is a totally awesome appetizer. And I think one that can be adapted for other breads as well. Or at least I’m gonna try, to play with it a little.
