If you have an abundance of tomatoes in your garden this year, you can make these and vacuum seal them. Then add them to your favorite recipes.
Slice each tomato about 1/8 of an inch thick. I used my dehydrator, but you can use your oven also. If using your dehydrator, place tomatoes on each rack so they are not touching. Turn on and let dry for at least 4 hours; keep checking the dryness.
If using your oven, preheat to the lowest temperature (170F), put a sheet of foil over each rack and poke holes in the foil. Spray foil with Pam. Arrange tomatoes so they are not touching. Dry for about 2 hours; keep checking the dryness throughout the process.
When tomatoes are dry, let cool completely. Using your vaccum sealer, seal in bags in your desired amounts and enjoy throughout the year.
