Need an In-N-Out Burger fix? For all of us who don’t live near an In-N-Out Burger, I’ve recreated their famous Animal Fries!
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees (F) – or whatever temperature is specified on your frozen potato packaging.
Lay the French fries out onto a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 12-15 minutes (depending on packaging) until the fries are crispy.
While the fries are baking, finely mince a yellow onion. Over medium-high heat, melt 1 Tablespoon of butter in a pan. Add the onions and cook until caramelized and dark brown (about 10 minutes).
Remove the fries from the oven when they are done and sprinkle them with salt. Move the fries to a smaller baking dish (9×9). Lay the 4 slices of American Cheese on top of the fries and sprinkle the onions on top of the cheese. Put the fries back into the oven and bake for 2-3 minutes until the cheese has melted.
To serve, spoon about 4 Tablespoons of Thousand Island Dressing on top of everything and spread it out over the cheese and onions.
DIG IN & ENJOY!

Thousand Island is my favorite dressing. Of all the different brands of I’ve tried, LiteHouse is the best.
