It was rainy and cold all day and this was the perfect antidote to a dreary day. The herbs give it more depth than a typical lentil soup. I used homemade stock instead of bouillon and it worked great. This recipe makes a huge pot of soup so I froze some.

For the sausage, Original Brat Hans makes a great chicken sausage and their meat is all natural with no antibiotics, preservatives, fillers or MSG!
