This recipe could also benefit from the addition of 8 ounces of white wine. I give this recipe one mit without the addition of another 2.5 tablespoons of lobster base and 8 ounces of white wine. It gets 4 mits after those additional ingredients have been added.

Upon printing this recipe, I immediately thought to myself, "1 tablespoon of lobster base is not going to be even close to enough to give this bisque flavor." Sure enough, when the bisque was completed, it lacked any flavor whatsoever. I'm sorry, but you need more than one tablespoon of lobster base to make a large pot of soup taste like a seafood bisque. I added another 2 and a half tablespoons of lobster base, and it probably could have taken a full 4 tablespoons. Once that was done, the bisque was...well...just OK. Nothing to write home about. Without the extra base that I added, it reminded me of Bar Harbor canned lobster bisque...it tasted like a hot, steaming bowl of fresh air. After the additional base was added...it really wasn't worth the time and effort, or the expense of the lobster base.
