This is a yummy soup - very quick and easy to make and I can see where it would be very versatile. I had no intention of going out today and had no canned beans but I do have a jar of dried beans that has a mix of black eyed peas, split green peas and black beans - my favorites. I cooked some dried beans in one pot, the ham as directed in another and then combined them. I had cooked too many beans so added a carton of chicken broth. I loved it, the kids loved it and their friends too. Thanks so much for the recipe.
