I have made this soup twice and will make it again today for my daughter (who just had a baby) and her family. It is that wonderful! My 93 year old mother LOVES it. She hates heat in her food but really enjoys this soup even with the jalapeños. Taking out the seeds calms down the heat and I think sauté of them helps add flavor without the heat. It is a little labor intensive but so worth it! Thank you for the recipe.

I made this soup for my husband's birthday. He loved it and so did I. It is a little labor intensive and takes longer than I like but it is worth every minute. Fabulous and will make many more times.

I have made this soup quite a few times since I saw it. It is amazing! Very simple ingredients and great flavor! I do not add the cream and it still tastes wonderful.

FABULOUS Soup Recipe, Ree! It deserves 5 mits for sure! My entire family loved this soup! Like you, I have a husband and 4 children to feed. I believe soup is an economical option. However, my husband doesn't prefer to consume hot liquids (believe it or not!). He liked this and actually enjoyed a bowl of it! The kids added shredded cheddar cheese. I followed the recipe exactly, found it not to be too spicy for everyone's tastes, and the taste of all the flavors together was wonderful. Even better as leftovers! Will certainly be making this recipe again and I'm looking forward to sharing it with others!
P.S. I love watching the Pioneer Woman on Food Network! I hope it continues!

This was good. It is a little bland. I added sauted garlic, substitude a can of green chilies for the jalapenos. I did not have fresh oregano so I added lots of dried oregano and plenty of fresh pepper. I was leery of adding so much cream so when the soup was done, i divided the batch in half and added 1/2 cup of cream to one batch. I did like it with the cream, but I still don't think i would add 2 cups of cream next time. I would make this again and maybe add 2 cans of of the green chilies (jalapenos are just to hot for my family's tastes.

I was hunting for a soup to make for a bunch of girlfriends coming over and this is the one I chose. Yes, it took some time, but if you enjoy the time and effort you put into a dish, it's worth it. It turned out lovely! I think when you stir it, with the colors, it's very pretty.I had to add a quite a bit of salt to get it to how I like it, but overall for an Italian Soup I will be making this again, it was scrumptious! Oh, and the parmesean cheese on it was heavenly!
