This was great! Similary to chili, but we really liked it as something different. I especially like the way it all cooks up together. I used a bag of shredded cabbage which was fine. Great with cheese and fresh bread!

It makes a ton and freezes really well, which is great for quick future meals

This recipe was great! Simple and tasty. Even my husband liked it and he is not a 'soup' eater. Made a full batch and put half in the freezer for a quick meal in the days to come.

This was a hit at my house. I cooked it for Halloween and had friends over for dinner before the trick or treating began. I did add to it...onion, garlic, a can of kidney beans, and a can of diced tomatoes. It filled up my 5 quart crockpot and there was plenty to go around. It's a keeper for sure!

Thanks Annalise! Can't believe how perfectly this soup says 'hearty autumn meal'. I made this in a pot on my stove, varying only to add a diced onion, and simmered for about six and a half hours. By that time the liquid had reduced leaving around 4 decent, stand-alone main meal servings. Beauty.
