Incredible. I use this to make chili dogs. I blend the rotels until it’s smooth and I don’t add any of the beans. It’s amazing.

This was my first experience with Frito Chili Pie, and it will definitely not be my last!

I used ground turkey instead of ground beef, added a minced sweet onion to the meat while browning, all pinto beans, and a splash of red enchilada sauce. I made it the night before we had it for dinner, to let the flavors marry.

When I finished prepping it I thought, "This doesn't look quite wet enough." at the time, and then came back to re-read the recipe this evening. I noticed the comment above from "MomToOne" about showing water being added with the tomato sauce in the blog post but not in this recipe.

So tonight as I warmed it up on the stove, I added about 1/2-3/4 cup of water over about 20 minutes as I simmered it. It came out to a consistency I considered to be perfect.

Served with shredded Mexican blend cheese and sour cream. (Plus hot sauce for me!) Delish!

Excellent and easy! I added a chopped onion while I browned the ground beef. This can be doubled for a crowd or made ahead and warmed up. I normally oppose beans in my chili but this has a great flavor & is perfect for Frito Pie. Will be making it again soon.

Fantastic recipe!! I added a little cayenne pepper to kick up the heat & "hot" rotel instead of original. I also had to make "tomato sauce" from tomato paste because I didn't have any on hand . . . then to also ensure there was enough liquid I added one additional can of rotel. Turned out fantastic & this will be my new go to chili recipe! :)

I pre-made this for our camping trip and it was absolutely fabulous. After cooking chili, I cooled and then vacuumed sealed for our trip. While on the campsite all I had to do was put the vacuumed sealed bag in a pot of boiling water for ~10 minutes and wahla...fresh tasting chili. My girls LOVED eating out of the frito bags

On your blog you add warm water with the tomato sauce and rotel and spices, but it isn't on this recipe or the printable one on your cooking blog. Does it need the water? By the way, I'm making this for dinner right now because I have been craving it since your blogged about it! I can't wait to eat it!

This was an amazing taste combination, we loved it! the chili was perfect, all i changed was using a can of spiced chili beans instead of kidney beans since we don't care for them, and also that made up for using petite cut tomatoes instead of rotel since the chili beans have added seasoning. Such an easy delicious dinner!
