Great recipe- thanks for sharing. I like to put the bacon on last as a garnish, too, it keeps it crunchy. Ick to soggy bacon!

I love this soup. We make it almost every week in the winter and at least once a month or more any other time.
It is a nice comfort food. This is very easy and taste like you spent all day fixing it. I also mix in the bacon and onions in the soup while it is cooking. Seems like it brings out the flavor more.

Turned out great! I did add the crumbled bacon and cheese to the soup before serving so that it all mixed together, rather than just using it as garnish for each bowl. And I agree, there's never anything wrong with more bacon! Definitely hanging onto this recipe for future cold days......pairs perfectly with a buttered slice of freshly made bread!

This was the first time I ever made potato soup, I always thought it was hard and I was scared it wouldn't turn out very good. I made this tonight and it is so good. We will be having it more often. They only thing I would change is I would add more bacon and mix it in with the green onions...or at least add some more salt. This is exactly what I was looking for!
