I followed this recipe exactly and we did not like it at all. We love all of these things...corn, sweet potatoes, chipotle, but not this recipe. I went back afterwards and checked to see if I'd missed anything or done something wrong, but I hadn't. I thought the thyme was overwhelming and I love thyme.

Delicious recipe! Hearty & filling with just the right amount of spiciness. I followed the recipe as written except for the exclusion of the marjoram (we don't keep it on hand b/c my daughter is allergic to it). I saved a little time on prep by roasting & cubing my sweet potatoes earlier in the morning and refrigerating them until ready to use. My family loved the flavor of this chowder and we will be making it often!

Just finished having this soup for dinner and YUM is it good! I intended to make this for dinner last night, but after having a late lunch we decided to skip dinner. Because of planning to eat this yesterday I had already roasted the sweet potatoes, so I went ahead and peeled and cubed them and then popped them in the fridge. Because that part was already done making the soup for dinner tonight was a breeze! It worked out really nicely having the sweet potatoes all ready to go! I used dried herbs and substituted a little oregano for marjoram as I didn't have any on hand and that worked nicely. Also, I only used 1 chipotle pepper as others suggested, but you could hardly taste that yummy chipotle flavor so I ended up adding in some ground chipotle pepper when I was doing my final seasoning at the end. Next time I'll definitely go with both chipotle peppers as written. I used frozen corn, but I can't wait to make this when sweet corn is in season because I think that will make it even tastier! Oh, and I ended up only needing 32 oz of chicken broth. This chowder really was amazing! Sweet, spicy, smoky, creamy, a mix of textures, and packed with nutrition from those sweet potatoes, really perfect! I will definitely be making this soup again and I'm looking forward to having leftovers for lunch tomorrow! Thanks for a great recipe!

I love this soup, it is so different than any soup I have ever made. I like spicy so this was perfect for me, but for some of my friends it was a bit to spicy. Those who don't care so much for spicy may want to cut back on the chipotle peppers. I am not a big sweet potato fan either but this soup is going to be one of my regulars

This was delicisous - my husband that hates sweet potatoes loved it! He didn't even know it had sweet potatoes in it as I processed all of them along with the chipotle peppers in my blender. Thanks for sharing!

This is the best chowder I have ever made! I used 1 and 1/2 boxes of stock, dried herbs and doubled the chilis. I also don't have an immersion blender, but used a potato masher to smoosh some of the soup. It was really wonderful and so flavorful. I'll be making this soup again very soon.
