I will admit tho, it took 30 min on the phone with my brother to find the micro brew that he thought would be fitting. He did well as this stew was a smash homerun at our house! LOVE IT!! I would say if your making for more than four adults do double! I love Ree and and all her love she puts not only into cooking for her family and us, but the love of her family and friends as well!! But, I made a few adjustments after reading the reviews: I floured and seasoned the beef before I browned it, reduced the amount of water I added to the pot and added a bay leaf too. I served it over egg noodles with French bread. DELICIOUS!

Better than my mom’s. Shhh, don’t tell. We don’t drink so I omit that and I’m allergic to paprika so again, it’s omitted. I’m sure it doesn’t have the same taste as most of those who try it but even without those two (main! LOL) ingredients, it’s delicious!!

As it was cooking down it needed a little something. For 1.5 of this recipe: I added more beef broth as it reduced-ended up using 2 full cartons. Also, added 2 cans fire roasted diced tomatoes. I also used 1 bag baby carrots instead of whole. The recipe ended up being perfect and everyone was happy (minus my 6 yr old who refused because she saw orange). This recipe is a keeper!
