My dad used to make this all the time when I was a kid, but with the addition bacon. Cook the chopped up bacon and set it aside, but leave the grease to saute the cabbage in. Then add the bacon back in when the noodles are ready. Mmm!
My hubby and I don't eat meat, so we make it plain like the recipe. Sometimes we add sliced radishes to the cabbage for a little color & more flavor.
This is a great dish, very inexpensive (and makes a lot!), tasty and versatile.
