I made this last night using Gala apples and it turned out pretty well. I expected it to be very sweet but it wasn’t. In the future, I’ll use a variety of apples; I’m thinking Granny Smith, Gala, Braeburn, McIntosh and Pink Lady. I thought it could use more apples, more nuts and less or no marshmellows.

It really does taste like caramel apples! I used Granny Smiths, and they hit the spot. I don’t like nuts, so I didn’t add any, but my husband wants to try some in it next time. He also suggested raisins or mandarin oranges.

Lovely salad! I am not a big pecan or walnut fan so I substituted spanish peanuts! The salad was awesome!

I love this salad! I’ve played around with both tart and sweet apples trying to find the perfect one. I’ve decided it needs one that is in the middle, maybe Gala.

really yummy. i personallly think that the nuts are necessary, not optional. i used pecans.

I tried Twinks’ cashew sauce and loved it, so I though I would try another of her recipes. While it is not vegan, it was worth cheating for. So, so good!
