This is a favorite in my house, especially my youngest son's! He would probably have this everyday if he could. The meat comes out so tender and the gravy is so flavorful. I serve it over noodles most of the time.

So simple and delicious. I used dry onion soup because I couldn't get the canned and cooked it in the crock pot for about 6 hours. I added a few cut up potatoes for the last two hours. Next time I'll add some celery and other veg. Thanks for the great recipe!

I will say this was a SUPER easy dinner and pretty tasty, but it was WAY too salty for my taste (and I really like salt!). I think if I made this again, I would just use beef broth and some sauteed onions instead of the French onion soup to cut down on the salty factor.

This is like the pot roast one of my grandmothers used to always make. Her recipe was a can of cream of mushroom, can of cream of celery, and a packet of dry onion soup mix with water and pot roast in the crockpot all day. It was SO good! Thanks for another super simple, (and I'm sure will be) delicious recipe. In the oven now and will serve it with wide egg noodles, broccoli, and salad. Yum!

This is similar to a recipe my mother would cook when I was growing up called "In the Oven Stew", which called for 1 package of dry onion soup mix and 1 can of cream of mushroom soup + 1 can of water added to 2 pounds of stew meat. I have gone a step further and added celery and carrots and served it over rice or mashed potatoes; it is a very filling meal!
I am making these beef tips tonight but having to substitute Cream of Mushroom w/ Roasted Garlic soup and 1 can of beef broth(my store didn't have French Onion soup) + a few Tbsp of dried minced onion. It is in the crockpot now and smells great!
Thank you for sharing!

This was very easy. I cooked it in a crockpot (used my mini crockpot since I only used 1lb of beef) on high for ~5hrs. As a word of caution, when the 2 soups were mixed and poured over the beef, it looked INCREDIBLY disgusting... but hang in there... haha, everything turned out delicious. :-) I served it over white rice. Thanks!
