Same problem finding paste. Just ended up subbing in some sweet chili sauce (quite a bit actually). Adds a good spice and an extra bit of sweetness. Usually go a little heavy with the ginger as well. It’s still not terribly spicy, but it has a nice heat. If you can’t find the paste or if you still want to spice it up, buy some dried asian chilis and toss them with the hot pasta. The actually chili isn’t edible, but it sure does pack a punch.

It was okay. I think I needed to find the paste. There was almost no spice to it. Two of my four girls ate it, but did not want seconds. Husband thought it was good. Thanks for a good recipe.
