Adding carrots would be good and part of the spice packet that came with the beans, or even some green chiles but really it has a lot flavor on its own.

My kids are notoriously picky eaters and they both loved this soup, as did my husband and I. It makes a pretty big batch so I intend on freezing the leftovers.
I changed the diced tomatoes to crushed tomatoes, but that was it. Very flavorful, satisfying and super easy to boot. Next time I think I will add the spice packet that came with the beans.

Lov2cook summed it up... if it's meat, it has to be pressure. My husband and I travel a lot and like to take canned food with us... it's cheaper than constantly buying ice for a cooler and it doesn't matter if it doesn't get eaten on that trip.
