Wonderful! Mine was a little salty, but I'm sure that's because I didn't actually measure the salt and just eyeballed it - next time I'll be more precise :) Other than that one little 'user error,' it was a great recipe! I froze a lot of the leftover meat to use later, which is always a plus :)

This was very flavorful. I didn't have Hawaiian sea salt so I used pink himalayan salt - not sure the difference, but the result was really good! My entire family said they'd want it again.

I have made this several times - it's really delicious! I haven't been able to find hawaiian sea salt so I just use regular sea salt. Also, my larger slow cooker runs hot, so I usually allow 10 - 12 hours cooking time.

This is so easy and so good! I've made it several times now with both boneless and bone-in pork shoulder and it's always perfect. With bone-in, the meat just falls off the bone and you can simply lift it out of the slow cooker! I made this with FujiMama's kurigohan and that was the best! Also good with sweet chili sauce.

This is a winner for my entire family. I've made it several time, and it always turns out great. And the crockpot is so much easier than digging an emu pit (lol!). Thanks for sharing a great recipe!

I only used half the amount of meat because that is just too much for us. This was so good and tasted just like the pigs they roast in the ground and was so tender. Since I used half of the meat I only cooked for 8-10 hours on low.
