These had a great taste to them! They turned out just a bit dry, which is the only reason I gave it 4 mitts instead of 5, but I'm not sure if it's because I had them in a stoneware dish in the oven (see my comment :/ ) or if it was because I'd drained most of the water off the beans, not knowing at the time whether I should have or not. I will definitely try them again - the taste was really good - but I'll probably try leaving the liquid in the beans and using my large crock pot!

Sometimes I drain the beans, sometimes I don't and I've never rinsed them. I've been doing this by memory for so long that I forgot that the recipe I had written down in my recipe book called for water. I've never put water in it. I use the low setting, which is what I would for anything that I cook for 6 hours. And sorry about not mentioning a large crock pot! You can see by the picture that it is filled to the brim. Yum. Hope you all like it!

USE A LARGE CROCK POT!!! I'm making this as a side dish for dinner, and I have the main course in my large crock pot. I thought I could put this in my smaller crock pot, but no go! And that was with draining most of the liquid off the beans, although I'm not sure if I should have or not. But I really didn't have room in the dish with the liquid I drained off. I've ended up putting it in a stoneware dish in the oven instead. (Once I try it, I'll leave a review.)
