If you cook the sauce as directed it thickens up some, but if it is still to thin for you then you may want to go another route. I used pork shoulder and like I said it was great. Started it about 8am. It was the best thing EVER! The sauce was great- we put cole slaw on top of the meat and then the sauce. The kids ate two servings and hubby had three. Thanks for the recipe!!! I only used 1/2 cup and it was like fire. The crockpot meat with the rootbeer was ok though, but I think I’ll follow the lead of others and just use BBQ sauce.

The sauce was a little too thin and made the bread all soggy. I think we’re just going to stick with bbq sauce for our pulled pork sandwiches. The sauce was good but not very sweet, I think if I tried this again, I’d use Coke instead of Root Beer.
