Really tasty! I added some cumin and lemon juice like others suggested I used cilantro instead of parsley and also added some shredded chicken. Really good! Just make sure you keep adding water while cooking the lentils! Mine almost burned before I realized to keep adding more water!

i love this recipe! it is super flexible – i used vegetable stock and omitted the bacon to make it vegetarian, but have cooked it the other way as well and it both are DELICIOUS! goes great with brats for the meat eaters.

This is an easy, delicious soup! I’ve made it several times and have varied it a little bit each time. It’s a forgiving recipe. One addition I especially like is a little lemon juice squeezed in just before serving. Delicious!

I tried this tonight and it wasnt a winner for me. I wont be making this again. I followed it to the t, also adding the cumin. The flavors were bland and it wasnt appealing to me.

I actually created an account to review this…what can I say? It’s too good not to try! I wound feeling lazy and grated the zucchini instead of chopping, but loved the texture that it added. This was fabulous, next time, I will have to double!

I made this and added a bit of cumin as suggested. It was so good, just right on a cold, cold night. My husband & son loved it, so we’ll be having this again soon. But I will double the recipe!
