Hi, This sounds like a lovely and tasty pasta dish, but this is not Guyanese chow mein. I was born and bred in Guyana and our chow mein has soy sauce or chinese sauce to flavor the noodles, we also do no use egg noodles but Guyanese style chow mein noodles..we make our own. We usually use local vegetables such as pumpkin and bora (chinese long bean) but will substitute with mixed vegetables. It was also brought to Guyana by Chinese settlers who still reside there.
