I've made this recipe a few times and really enjoy it. I'd much rather have this than takeout! If I'm in a hurry I've tried subbing Trader Joe's Tempura Chicken (without the sauce packet) and just tossing it in the sauce which turned out nicely. Otherwise I think this is a great recipe exactly as written. Thanks a lot! :)

For such a labor intensive dish I expected something delicious. The flavor was just off. When frying the chicken the batter stuck to the bottom of the pan which I was able to fix. We will not be making this again.

This was very good! I used my wok for both the frying of the chicken and making the sauce. I would definitely make this again. Thanks for the recipe!

I was really excited to try this, and not entirely disappointed - however, my boyfriend and I found it a bit too salty (probably because of the soy sauce we used) and not as sweet as the kind we get when we're out.

This was just delicious! I was sad when it was gone. I'd like to find a way to make it a little bit healthier but then it probably won't be as delicious, right?

Recipe looked great in theory but I would change a few things if I make it again - more spice, deeper oil and larger pieces of chicken to speed things up if I make it again.

Mmm...adding orane juice to the sauce sounds like a great idea!

i made this a couple weeks ago and found the chicken breading wasn't as crispy as I had hoped and the sauce was thin. Made it again tonight because i thought the sauce was delicious regardless and am pretty sure i left out the corn starch last time because it thickened perfectly! Chicken still wasn't as crispy as what I usually like for general tso's so i might try a different breading next time, but still delicious!!!

I'm host mom to a teenage boy from Thailand. I made this in an attempt to make something he might enjoy. He loved it and ate two huge plates full. I did think the sauce was missing something so I added 1/3-1/2 cup of orange juice. Next time I will do 1/2 chicken broth and 1/2 oj.
