This really is fabulous! I didn't think putting the spices under the skin would really matter, but it made a huge difference. I've done chicken with the same slow cooker method before, but with the seasoning on just the outside-- this way is way, way better! I prepped the chicken the night before, then placed it on the foil balls in the slow cooker in the morning before work. Fabulous dinner; simply fabulous!

This was fantastic. I tried it one day and the next weekend at my mom's we used it again. It is so much cheaper than the ones from grocery store which I buy mostly because they are already cooked and it will save me time. Now I put a chicken in the crockpot in the morning before leaving for work and it is done when I get home and can eat as is or make so many other recipes.
I have changed the seasonings to reflect what I have on hand or am planning on using the cooked chicken for.

I make chicken like this ALL the time! I usually stuff a cut onion and some garlic cloves in the cavity as well..don't think it makes a world of difference, but I like doing it anyway. And you are right- it literally falls apart when it's done. I have never been able to transfer it whole out of the crock. It may not look pretty, but it sure tastes amazing!

Thanks mandre for the wonderful reveiw. I am so glad it turned out for you. Slow cookers are tricky only when you leave it too long, I always used to do that and wonder why it dried out. I though because it was steamy in there it would never dry out but it does. Try a little less time next time and it should be good :)

OMG...so good. SO GOOD. And yes, be careful lifting out of the pot because it DOES fall off the bone! The breasts were a tiny bit dry, but I am certain that was something done wrong on my end. DELISH - with great leftovers. Easy peasy. Made it with Ree's Potatoes Au Gratin and we were in heaven. THANKS!
