Sorry to be the odd reviewer out. This turned out really dry after seven hours on low. I'd try again at a much reduced cooking time (four hours?), but no one like the flavoring much.

This couldn't have been easier and we loved it. My husband said it was the best chicken I ever made. The juice that comes with it is amazing and will be a perfect addition to the broth I'll make with the leftovers. I will absolutely be making this again!

Really yummy & super easy! I seasoned it about an hour before I put it in the slow cooker, and made sure to get most of the seasoning under the skin. I also put about 5 crumpled balls of aluminum foil underneath the chicken in the slow cooker so that it wouldn't end up swimming in liquid, it worked out great! The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and REALLY flavorful! This recipe is definitely a keeper!

This recipe is now part of our rotation. I never remember to season it the night before; like another reviewer said it works out just fine if you season it right before you put the bird on the crockpot. My whole family loves it! It is easy and *much* better tasting than the rotisierre chickens at the grocery store. And, chickens go on sale for $3-$5 a chicken all the time, so it is very budget friendly as well. Love it! Easy, cheap, and tasty -- a homemakers dream recipe.

Absolutely love this recipe! I do add 2 t of thyme and use cut up whole chicken. I put the onions on the bottom, poor in 1 cup of chicken stock and top with chicken. The juices run from the chicken and by the time it is cooked (4-5 hrs on low), it's almost covered in them and meat falls off the bone. So easy and delicious!

Delicious! I've never remembered to season the chicken the night before, and so I season it right before it goes into the crock, and it's just amazing: super moist, flavorful and easy! Instead of rubbing the seasoning inside the chicken, I toss some onion chunks in the seasoning before I put them inside the chicken. Also, we don't have any cayenne in the house, so I use just a pinch of chili powder. Even my super picky 3.5 year old goes back for seconds!

This recipe is so easy and delicious! I do agree with the others though that the cayenne is a bit much unless you like the spicy side of life ;) so I just toss in a pinch. I also seem to always forget to season the night before and it seems to end up OK :)

Very easy and very good! The meat was falling off the bones. I don't think I will ever roast a chicken in the oven again. Thanks for the recipe!

I also cut way back on the cayenne since I'm feeding a toddler, but this was fantastic. I used probably less than 1/4 tsp. cayenne, and didn't have white pepper so put in a little bit of extra black pepper. We will be having this again, though, probably very soon. Great recipe!
