We are not fans of mushrooms either. I have been substituting Campbell’s Cream of Onion soup for years …well, too many to mention here. The texture and consistency seem to be the same as Cream of Mushroom. If you can’t find Cream of Onion, Cream of Celery is another option.
This dip does sound yummy, doesn’t it?

You could add a second can of tomato soup or perhaps even Cream of Chicken. The mushrooms are not prevalent. In fact, most people are shocked to hear that there is mushroom soup in the recipe — including those who hate mushrooms.
