OMG! I just saw this recipe. It so good to know that we’re not the only noodles over mashed potatoes family! It is also a special occasion meal for us, but my sister-in-law is making Oct. 17 a special occasion this year and has just invited the whole family over for chicken and noodles…can’t wait.

This is exactly how we eat ours. People think it sounds weird to eat noodles on mashed potatoes, but it is so good. My mother made it this way and now I make it this way. It is a family favorite.

Cool! I have never seen anybody else make them this way either. Is your family German? My grandmother is german and this is her recipe. True comfort food.

Wow! This is almost identical to our family recipe for noodles. (We use a bit of cream or milk in the noodles in addition to the eggs.) The key part is serving it over the mashed potatoes – I’ve never seen anyone else do it this way. This is the recipe people request on special occasions on our family, it’s a real treat!
