I made this and it was hugely popular at my house. The only changes I made were letting the dough rise for about an hour and not using ham (I used mushrooms instead). Other than that, everyone loved it.

This entire recipe is amazing! The dough is great, the marinara is, no joke, the best marinara I’ve ever made! I’ve used it for a few different dishes besides the calzones, any time you need a red sauce! Calzones have always been one of my favorite things to order when we go out, but now I can make them at home. Thank you for sharing!

Delicious … made mine with ham, provolone, havarti and fresh mozzarella topped the crust with dried onions and sea salt. And, I halved the recipe which was plenty. Thanks for sharing!

super delish! i was a bit skeptical of the marinara on how it would turn out taste-wise, but boy was it good! will be keeping this recipe for sure.

so tasty and satisfying! My husband and I loved ‘em! We thought we’d totally messed the calzones up when we were rolling them, but it turned out beautiful in the end. I added some red pepper flakes to the sauce to give it a little kick. The dough was excellent! I think I might try making some garlic breadsticks out of it another day. Thanks for posting!

veeerrryyy good. i think i did pretty much everything wrong and they still turned out great. im terrible at making dough, and i didnt roll them out to the correct size, and they baked great still. i think that next time i will make into 4 calzones instead of the two since they were HUUGEEE. my fiancée and i coudlnt even finish one, and hes a big eater. make this!
