These were good, a healthy opton. I agree with inneranomaly's husband that they were a little pasty inside, but the flavor was excellent. Loved the jalapeno, but I'm a spice girl. Not a "Spice Girl." You know what I mean :)

Loved these! Left out the jalapeno because it probably would've been a little too spicy for us, then served them with avocado and then a mixture of mayo and a little of the Sriracha chili sauce (sounds weird, but we use that combo in sushi sometimes). Delicious! I ended up making only 4 patties to fit my kaiser rolls, but they were probably a little too big because they wanted to fall apart. Even so, they still managed to hold together pretty well. These had a really great consistency, so I don't think I'll ever try one of the black bean recipes that call for cooked rice -- too much work!

I love these, but my husband wasn't crazy about them at all (the reason I only give it 4 stars instead of 5). Husband said it tasted like he was eating bean dip because of the texture and said he'd rather eat black bean salad if he's going to eat that many black beans. I thought they were great, but I won't be able to serve them for dinner due to hubby's lack of enthusiasm. I have made them again to use for my lunches though! I'm not able to form them into patties (could be b/c I sub one egg for the flax/water?) but I cook in a skillet and spoon the mixture directly into the skillet, forming it into a patty as it cooks.

LOVE this! My husband who has is of the opinion that all meals should contain meat was shocked at how tasty this is. What is even better is this is such an easy, delicious way to get in some vegetables. Will be adding this to my recipe book for sure!

I give it a 5, my husband gives it a 4 or so. He is grateful anytime I actually do cook but he's a meat eater. I LOVED these things. Ever since watching "Forks Over Knives", a movie about the dangers of eating animal protein, I've been thinking about switching to a vegan diet. This was my first recipe and I'm ready to try more. Thanks for sharing!!!

This is very good. I didn't have flax and tried it with one whole egg instead. I assume that you don't need the water then, correct? The taste is absolutely amazing and my husband liked it very much as well. The consistency is a little sticky, I assume it's because of the egg instead of flax? I added some more bread crumbs in order to build patties and it worked a little better this way. Will definitely make them again! Thank you! :)

if it were just me rating these I'd give them a 5 out of 5, but since my husband is rating them with me we're at a 4.

I love everything about these, the flavor is so perfect. I'm the only meat eater in a house of vegetarians, I usually don't like veggie burgers, but this is a burger I can really get behind.

my husband's issue is that while it's very, very tasty, and it doesn't fall apart, the form is perfect compared to other fresh veggies burgers (as opposed to the frozen ones), the texture is too pasty for him. He feels like he's biting into a patty of bean dip... I think next time I make these I'll add in a half cup of cooked brown rice to see if that helps the texture a little bit.

All in all this is a recipe that will be made again, and again. Something that usually doesn't happen in this house.
