By the way, I think it would really help if the BBQ sauce the author really likes was listed. Picking the right one would go a long way to making or breaking this recipe.

Wow! I made this dish Sat night/Sun morning and it was ready in time for Sunday lunch. It was fantastic!
I was doubtful that 8 oz of ginger ale was enough liquid for the pork to cook but I was wrong.

Don't hesitate to make this dish! It is one of our new favorites!

The problem with this recipe is if you cook it when youre hungry and you come home from the beach and all you smell is delicious pork in the oven... look, it doesn't need to be returned to the oven with the BBQ sauce to cook down even further. ; ) I'm going to try it again when we're not so hungry! But for those of you who can't wait, the first 6 hours, shredded and BBQ sauce added moments are delicious enough!

I thought this turned out amazing, just like the other posters. I didn't cook it as long as suggested because I read the recipe too late but started it at 5:30 am and shredded the meat at 3 p.m. and it turned out great. Super easy and very tasty!!

it was the 8 oz of ginger ale that had me intrigued. and oh man, what a brilliant idea!!! I used Wee Willy's North Carolina Style barbecue sauce (read: spicy!) and Natural Brew Outrageous Ginger Ale.

I have leftover spice rub, as the recipe indicated, and leftover BBQ sauce for another iteration of this fabulous recipe. it's hard to go wrong with a boston butt in the slow cooker, but this turned out oh so right.
